Carpentry / Woodworking Instructor :
- Train students primarily in carpentry/woodworking techniques (Joinery, Cabinetmaking, Millwork, Wood Fabrication/ Wood Manufacturing, etc) using hand tools and power tools, including CNC machines- Also might provide instruction in advanced manufacturing methods including 3D printing and machining of various plastics, metals, and alloys- Guide students through the design-build process, from concept to physical prototype, including technical considerations such as part geometry, material selection, and tolerancing, etc- Teach design for manufacturability principles and prototype testing methodologies- Support and maintain prototyping lab facilities, oversee safe operation and maintenance of fabrication equipment- Create and update training materials for various fabrication processes
Required Qualifications (Skills, Experience, Education, Certifications) :
- Instructor experience teaching carpentry / woodworking, 3D printing, machining processes- Supervisory experience- CAD/CAM experience ( creating and interpreting mechanical drawings and 3D CAD models )- Knowledge of material properties and fabrication processes for woods, metals, plastics, and composites- Strong communication skills with ability to explain technical concepts to students- Experience maintaining and troubleshooting manufacturing equipment
