Clearance: US citizenship required in order to obtain secret clearance
Location/Hybrid: Position is hybrid, requiring travel to the customer's Washington, DC offices and/or Sterling, VA one day per week/month.
Responsibilities:
Design & Development
Maintain CI/CD software delivery pipelines & tools for an enterprise scale system with a large developer baseMaintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) code artifactsMaintain container-based application solutionsWrite and run ad-hoc scripts (using Bash, Python etc.) to automate DevOps processesWork with development teams to troubleshoot specific issues by recreating tests, validating configuration, etc.Provide deployment support by deploying applications and microservices in cloud environments.
Operations
Maintain, monitor, and help improve the performance and availability of the 24x7 production environment including networks, servers, databases, etc.Administer network monitoring system, alerting, log management, and other IT systemsParticipate in on-call rotation and provide hands-on support during emergencies, outages, and service transitionsManage operational maintenance such as OS patches, security vulnerabilities etc. to ensure healthy status of various prod and non-prod environments
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related fieldHands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, especially with Jenkins using GroovyHands-on experience with container-based technologies, especially Kubernetes, Docker, AWS EKS, OpenShiftHands-on experience with AWS managed services (VPC, EC2, EKS, RDS), including monitoring and analytics tools such as AWS CloudWatch, NewRelicFamiliarity with configuration management using Chef, Puppet or equivalentProficient scripting skills (Bash, Perl, Python)
Solid understanding of microservice conceptsExperience with code management systems (Git, Subversion)Experience maintaining Java/Node web applications (Spring Boot, React)Keen communication and teamwork abilities
