Minimum qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent practical experience.Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA).7 years of experience in accounting or a related function, or 5 years with an advanced degree in accounting, business, or finance.Preferred qualifications:Master's in MBA or MSA, or equivalent practical experience.Experience in problem solving with SAP or other ERP systems, Spreadsheet software, and SQL.Experience in improving business processes and systems, demonstrating an ability to thrive in ambiguous situations.Excellent technical accounting skills with an understanding of accounting principles, including US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).Excellent communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with executive management and cross-functional business partners. About the job Google accountants are a savvy bunch who handle the core accounting responsibilities at Google. You know your accounting principles and the full accounting process end to end. You'll advise on financial reports required by governmental regulations, and review, analyze, and interpret financial and budgetary reports. From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.The US base salary range for this full-time position is $122,000-$180,000. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records for Global Affairs spending.Identify and mitigate potential financial risks within Global Affairs.Lead quarterly close and reporting activities, collaborating with business partners to establish scalable and efficient processes. Support the transition to automated forecasting and reporting processes, enabling data-driven decision-making.Oversee internal and external financial reporting, conduct variance analysis, and provide insights to senior management. Become a subject matter expert in our reporting tools.
