SUMMARY:

The Credit Analyst III position is an advanced role entailing the evaluation of highly complex commercial credit applications, the execution of sophisticated financial analyses, and the comprehensive assessment of intricate credit risk for larger commercial loan portfolios. This role provides strategic recommendations, displays leaderships skills by mentoring less experienced analysts, and ensuring the highest level of compliance with credit policies and regulatory requirements.

JOB DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Independently underwrite and prepare credit memorandum packages for loans >$5MM for executive leaderships review.Conduct independent and objective review of loan underwriting practices, approvals, monitoring activities, and credit administration proceduresEvaluate appropriateness of loan structures and completes analysis of financial information to identify current or potential problems in credit quality and potential portfolio risk and recommends changes, if necessary.Complete cash flow spread requests for Loan Officers in an efficient and timely manner.Engage in complex problem-solving to address non-standard credit issues, leveraging advanced knowledge in financial analysis.Evaluate the creditworthiness of complex potential and existing clients by analyzing financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant financial data.Manage the integrity of risk management functions by ensuring the acceptable credit standards are maintained and loans conform to established Bank policy, procedures, and regulatory requirement.Analyze borrowers financial position by interpreting and evaluating financial statements, tax returns, and/or projections.Regularly track and test borrowers' compliance with loan agreements by analyzing key financial metrics, ensuring adherence to financial covenants , and flagging any potential breaches for timely resolution.Analyze loan portfolio performance and risk exposure as needed, providing insights into trends, concentrations, and potential issues to support decision-making and ensure portfolio health.Review and assess borrowers' financial performance, creditworthiness, and compliance with loan terms during the annual review process, identifying risks and making recommendations for any necessary adjustments or actionsDemonstrate extensive expertise in the banks lending policies, procedures, and best practices, leveraging this knowledge to consistently deliver effective credit analysts and recommendations.Provide expert guidance on credit structuring and terms for significant loans and financial agreements.Prepare reports, which detail findings and recommendations, reviewed with the appropriate loan officer, credit administration and bank management.Submit examination results and discuss with Senior Management team and Loan Committee.Serve as a subject matter expert, providing guidance and mentorship to fellow credit analysts to enhance their skills and knowledge.Represent the organization in high-level client meetings and credit committee discussions.Maintain relationships with Loan Officers while contributing guidance for areas thatrequire further development.Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics or a related field.4-6 years of related commercial experience as a Credit Analyst.Excellent verbal and written communications skill .Demonstrated experience with tax returns, financial statements, and financial analysis.Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.Ability to conduct independent and objective reviews of loan and credit practices.Strong problem-solving skills to address obstacles in the underwriting process.Effective teamwork and collaboration abilities.Flexibility to handle a variety of tasks and special projects as assigned, adapting to changing priorities, deadlines, and regulatory environments.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

Professional Certifications such as Certified Risk Management Professional (CRMP), Certified Credit Professional (CCP), or Certified Public Accountant (CPA)Display strong leadership qualities.
