Oura employees in other major cities (like Boston and New York) occasionally gather informally at local co-working locations.We are seeking a passionate and experienced Director of Quality to join our team and ensure the highest standards of quality across our supplier, manufacturing, and field operations.Position Overview:
The Director of Quality will be responsible for overseeing and enhancing the quality management systems across our supply chain, manufacturing processes, and field operations. This role requires a strategic leader who can implement best practices, drive continuous improvement, and ensure compliance with industry standards. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that our products meet or exceed customer expectations.What you will do:
Supplier Quality Management:Develop and implement supplier quality assurance programsEvaluate and qualify suppliers to ensure they meet Oura Ring’s quality standardsConduct regular audits and assessments of supplier processes and productsCollaborate with suppliers to drive quality improvements and resolve issuesManufacturing Quality Assurance:Oversee the quality control processes in manufacturing, across all stages of manufacturing, from incoming materials to finished products, to ensure compliance with specificationsCollaborate with production and engineering to integrate quality checkpoints and lead process improvement initiatives aimed at defect reduction and cost savingsImplement and maintain robust quality management systems (QMS) that comply with regulatory requirementsTrain and mentor manufacturing staff on quality standards and best practicesField Quality Management:Monitor product performance in the field, collecting and analyzing data to identify trends and areas for improvementCollaborate with customer support and product teams to address field quality issues and enhance customer satisfactionDevelop and implement corrective and preventive actions based on field feedbackCreate and present reports on quality metrics and trends to senior managementCross-Functional Collaboration:Work closely with Engineering, program management, customer support and product management to ensure quality is integrated throughout the product lifecycleFoster a culture of quality across the organization through training, communication, and engagementDrive a proactive approach to risk management and quality assuranceThis is a hybrid role located in our San Francisco U.S. Headquarters.RequirementsMinimum of 10 years of experience in quality managementProven experience in supplier quality, manufacturing quality assurance, and field quality managementStrong knowledge of quality standards (ISO, Six Sigma, etc.) and regulatory requirementsExcellent analytical skills, statistical process controls and experience with quality data analysis toolsStrong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across teamsExceptional communication skills, both written and verbalExcellent problem-solving skills, including experience with root cause analysis and corrective action planningWillingness to travel 25% of the time to Mexico and FinlandBenefitsAt Oura, we care about you and your well-being.
