Job Description

Oracle’s Edge Cloud team is looking for a Principal Cloud Solutions Engineer with extensive knowledge in cloud and edge architectures, proven experience in designing scalable solutions, and a strong background in customer engagement. This position centers on developing, certifying, and deploying high-performance edge cloud solutions tailored for various industries and business sectors. You will collaborate closely with internal and external teams to ensure that Oracle’s edge cloud offerings—including Compute Cloud@Customer, Oracle Private Cloud Appliance, and Roving Edge devices—effectively address customer requirements for security, resilience, and scalability.

Extensive Technical Expertise: 15+ years in technology with a focus on architecting scalable, integrated solutions across public and private clouds, virtualization platforms, containerization, data migration, network, and IaaS. Proven experience in building and deploying edge cloud solutions, with expertise in OCI, Compute Cloud@Customer, Roving Edge devices, and edge-specific technologies.

Specialized Industry Knowledge: Ability to create customized edge cloud solutions tailored to various industries, including (but not limited to) telecommunications, manufacturing, healthcare, retail, automotive, energy and utilities, finance, agriculture, media and entertainment, and transportation and logistics, ensuring compliance with industry standards and security requirements. Experience with Oracle Database, Exadata, and certification/qualification of third-party applications is highly preferred.

ML/AI Knowledge: Familiarity with machine learning, generative AI, and large language models, and their potential applications in edge solutions is an added advantage.

Educational Background: Bachelor---s and Master---s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

This individual will be a leading contributor in the design and deployment of edge cloud solutions, working across teams to foster innovative approaches and ensure successful implementations for strategic customers. You will manage complex, non-routine projects that require a blend of deep technical knowledge, solution-oriented creativity, and strong business acumen to drive Oracle’s growth in the edge cloud market.

Responsibilities

Solution Design & Development: Design and develop scalable, integrated edge cloud solutions that combine Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Compute Cloud@Customer, Roving Edge devices, and public cloud technologies. Drive the development of solutions that meet industry-specific requirements for various business verticals, leveraging Oracle technologies and 3 rd party applications. Lead the creation of solutions papers and technical documentation, and training to support solution scalability, resilience, and alignment with customer business goals.

Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including development, support, and QA, to design, test, and refine edge cloud solutions. Ensure effective collaboration on feature development, troubleshooting, and partner with third-party vendors to certify and integrate their applications with Oracle Edge Cloud platforms, ensuring interoperability and adherence to Oracle standards.

Customer Engagement: Engage directly with strategic customers to gather detailed requirements, design custom solutions, and translate business needs into robust edge cloud architectures. Lead technical workshops, proofs of concept, and roadmap planning sessions, demonstrating how Oracle Edge Cloud solutions align with customer financial objectives and long-term goals. Support customer onboarding, adoption, and satisfaction throughout the solution lifecycle.

Technical Leadership & Thought Leadership: Serve as a key technical leader, providing mentorship and direction to other engineers. Develop and share thought leadership assets, including white papers, blogs, video demos, and case studies, to enhance customer understanding and promote Oracle Edge Cloud’s capabilities.

Cross-Platform Adaptability: Leverage experience with multiple cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) to design solutions that incorporate Oracle’s edge and public cloud offerings. Certification in major cloud platforms or related third-party technologies is a plus but not mandatory if relevant experience is demonstrated.

US: Hiring Range: from $113,000 to $185,200 per annum. May be eligible for equity. Eligible for commission with an estimated pay mix of 70/30.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.

Paid sick leave: 72 hours of paid sick leave upon date of hire. Refreshes each calendar year. Unused balance will carry over each year up to a maximum cap of 112 hours.
