We are currently seeking a skilled Press Room Operator to join our team at the rendering plant.

Job Description: The Press Room Operator at Tyson RVI-Harmony rendering plant is responsible for operating and maintaining press equipment used in the extraction of fats and oils from raw materials. This position requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The Press Room Operator will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient production of high-quality rendered products while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities:

Operate press equipment to extract fats and oils from raw materials, monitoring process parameters and adjusting settings as needed to optimize performance. Load raw materials into press equipment according to production schedules and batch specifications, ensuring proper quantities and weights. Monitor equipment operation and performance, conducting routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure reliability and efficiency. Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and mechanical issues, performing minor repairs or adjustments as necessary to minimize downtime. Coordinate with production and logistics teams to schedule press operations and prioritize production needs based on inventory levels and customer requirements. Conduct quality checks on pressed materials, including moisture content, temperature, and product consistency, to ensure compliance with specifications. Record production data, equipment readings, and process parameters accurately and comprehensively in logbooks and computerized systems. Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety protocols, and regulatory requirements to maintain a safe and compliant work environment. Clean and sanitize press equipment, work areas, and tools regularly to prevent contamination and ensure product quality and safety. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to identify opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, and efficiency enhancements. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to understand and operate complex machinery and equipment. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions, procedures, and safety protocols accurately. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Good communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with colleagues and supervisors. Flexibility to work rotating shifts, weekends, and overtime as needed to support production schedules and operational needs. Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures applicable to press operations and industrial manufacturing environments. Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks as required.
