Position Summary

The University of New Mexico,Health Sciences Center, Department of Internal Medicine is seeking BC/BEInternal Medicine or Preventative Medicine trained physicians to join ourexpanding outpatient faculty group in beautiful Albuquerque, NM. UNM HSCis the only academic medical center and is the primary teaching hospital in NewMexico. We provide mission driven care for over 200,000 New Mexicans and is theonly Level I trauma center in the state.

The position is focused onproviding high-quality, evidence based primary care to a dedicated patientpanel as well as providing supervision to Internal Medicine Residents duringtheir continuity clinic experience. Our community clinics are Level III NCQArecognized Patient Centered Medical Homes and serve a culturally rich anddiverse community. Clinical sites are integrated with clinical pharmacists,behavioral health, and care management teams.

In addition to clinical time,candidates will enjoy dedicated medical student education time as well asopportunities for advancement in leadership in multiple academic andadministrative roles.

Minimum Qualifications:

MD or DOBC or BE in General Internal Medicine or Preventative Medicineby date of hire;Must be eligible to work in the U.S.Preferred Qualifications:

Experience or interest in providing evidence-based primarycare including and not limited to: complex chronic disease management, prevention,wellness, and lifestyle medicine.Experience or interest in teaching residents and medicalstudents;Experience or interest in caring for underservedpopulations;Experience or interest in developing quality improvement projects.A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity,inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diversecommunities.
