Job Summary:
The Solutions Architect assists sales in creating formal technical design assistance in GDTs solutions and service offerings to existing and prospective clients. The Solutions Architect owns some technical aspects of a sales campaign and collaborates with the sales and services teams; They must maintain strong relationships with GDT clients. In this role, they are a thought leader within the Architect organization, responsible for designing, architecting and solutioning for GDT clients.
Key Responsibilities:
• Create the high-level architecture and solution designs (conceptual model, integration model, sourcing) for clients in alignment with the portfolio strategy.
• Document and monitor requirements needed to institute proposed solutions.
• Design, develop and maintain technology solution artifacts.
• Propose and establish working models defining necessary contributions from various departments.
• Account for possible project challenges on constraints including, risks, time, resources and scope.
• Work closely with project management teams to successfully monitor the progress of architecture initiatives.
• Provide detailed specifications to handoff proposed solutions for delivery.
• Define clear goals for all aspects of solution realization to optimize delivery.
• Review information architecture deliverables throughout the solutioning process to ensure quality and traceability to requirements and adherence to all plans and standards.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Ability to work with account manager/clients to understand functional requirements and interact with other cross-functional teams to architect, design, develop, test, and release solutions.
• Experience in creating and publishing architecture strategies, statements of direction, standards, and guidelines.
• Experience researching and maintaining knowledge in emerging technologies and solutions to solve business problems.
• Demonstrated the ability to work with a high degree of latitude. Experience handling the most complex issues and problems.
• Demonstrated mastery in requirements gathering and analysis processes and methodologies.
• Possesses expert knowledge of subject matter.
• Ability to present proposed solutions and implications to clients, connecting them to the client's defined requirements.
• Exposure to multiple, diverse technologies and processing environments.
• Provides leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to subordinate a group.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Security or the equivalent in experience.
Experience:
General IT and technology expertise inclusive of broad knowledge in several different areas of GDT's portfolio (network, collaboration, data center, cloud, security and CX) and strong subject matter knowledge in one or two areas. May possess focus knowledge of a specific industry or vertical.
Certifications:
Possesses many OEM and Industry entry-level and professional certifications spanning multiple vendors and technologies. Examples include Cisco CCNA/CCNP/CCDP, NetApp NCTA/NCDA/NCSE, Fortinet NSE 1 - 7, Juniper JNCIA/JNCIP/JNCIS, etc. May possess, or be actively pursuing, OEM expect level certifications or professional certifications in other/cross-functional areas such as (ISC)² certifications, EXIN ITIL, Enterprise Architect Certifications (i.e., TOGAF), etc.
