Description:JOB PURPOSE:The Athletic Trainer provides care to clients in need of sports related rehabilitation services in various settings. This person is responsible for the care of injured athletes from adolescents to geriatrics at community sporting events and on the practice and playing fields. The Athletic Trainer administers immediate first aid and develops a treatment program based on the nature of the injury. The Athletic Trainer communicates with the injured athlete, physician, coach, and family as appropriate.Qualifications:MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:Bachelors degree in Athletic Training or related field such as Health, Physical, Education or Exercise Science.MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:None.MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:Current certification from the National Athletic Trainers Association; Current Athletic Trainer license in State of Georgia; and BLS certification through AHA is required.ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:Experience with a variety of sports programs preferred.
