*CLINICAL PRESCREEN FOLLOWED BY MANAGER INTERVIEW*
Unit Respiratory and Renal Medicine (General MedSurg) 3 NORTH# of beds
43 Private BedsRatios 1:4-5 for Days and Nights - person who takes 5 is rotated for fairness.Required certifications
BLS, NIHSSCommon diagnoses/Types of patients COPD, CHF, Pneumonia, GI, Renal, ETOH withdrawal. ARF, HD patients and Peritoneal dialysis (contracted out to a dialysis service)Experience or 'Must have' skills Minimum 2 yearsAre RNs required to titrate drips?
Pharmacy will calculate heparin and nurse will change rate. Morphine for End of Life.Common titratable &/or set rate dripsCharge Nurse/House Supervisor
Charge Nurse does not take an assignment, House Supervisor 24/7.Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios
1:10-12RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc)
Cpap, NCIs there tele on this unit?
Monitor Techs? RNs read strips?
Remote tele monitoring, monitor on unit and monitor tech to monitor and notify nurses.Shifts & Scheduling
7-7:30 for both AM and PM shifts. Will take scheduling requests into account but no guarantee.Weekend Requirement
2 weekends per 4 week scheduleHoliday Requirement Yes, as needed.Is there a call or standby requirement? Standby if scheduled and not needed.Floating Requirements
