Facility in Eastern Nebraska is looking for several traveling Med-Surg nurses. The hospital is looking for both day and night shift coverage. The shift will be twelve hours, 13-26 Week Contacts, 36-48 hour guarantee's.Job Requirements
Department: Med Tele / Ortho RN - 4th Floor North & SouthCommon diagnosis / Types of patients: MedSurg/Tele- joint replacements, fractures, colon resections, COPD exacerbation, prostatectomy, cellulitis, sepsis, ortho trauma, GI bleeds, pneumonia, failure to thriveAre RN's required to titrate drips?: Heparin, lidocaine, and ketamineCommon titratable &/or set rate drips: PCA pumpsRN's should have some tele awarenessSchedule Information
The shift will be twelve hoursTravelers will be scheduled. Will approve a limited amount of block schedulingWeekend Requirements: Every other weekendHoliday Requirements: 2-3 Holidays from Thanksgiving to New Years.Floating Requirements: Yes to other medical surgical areas or units with MedSurg patients waiting for a MedSurg bedSelf-scheduling is allowed. 0630-1900, 1830-0700Unit Specific Information
Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:5-6Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: YesAre there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties?: Yes- 1:10-20Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RN's required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors?: Tele techs will interpret, RNs should have some tele awarenessHow many shifts of unit/department specific orientation?: 2 daysScrub Color/Dress Code/Scrubs Provided?: RNs: Navy BlueAdditional Details
