SUMMARY

The Agronomy Account Manager will be responsible for promoting & supporting Ag Partners Cooperative sales and service of seed, crop nutrients, crop protection products and technology to improve the producer's production efficiency and profitability.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

(Includes the following and other duties may be assigned.)

Responsible for:Spending 85% of allotted work time in customer facing activities to determine their needs and promote Ag Partners products and services.Providing a high level of customer service.Collaborating with the Regional Sales Director or VP Agronomy to identify market trends and develop localized programs to grow overall agronomy business.Operating the seed treater.Utilizing technology to differentiate Ag Partners and yourself from competition.Being the primary contact for agronomy customers in specified trade area.Promoting and adhering to the company Core Values of honesty, integrity & teamwork.Adherence to safety policies.Promptly and regularly report to work and work overtime hours as needed.Present a clean and professional appearance.Adherence to cooperative credit policy.Employee is required to perform all other duties as directed.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Education equivalent to a 4-year college degree in Agronomy or a minimum of 5 years in Ag Retail Sales. This position requires excellent computer operation skills. Must be willing to seek out and attend additional continuing education, seminars, classes or other job-related education requirements or opportunities. Should have knowledge of accounting software; database software; internet software; spreadsheet software and word processing software.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS

Commercial Driver's License Class A with Haz-Mat and Tanker Endorsements and/or the ability to obtain and maintain.

REASONING ABILITY

Must be able to think quickly and perform a mental assessment of workplace hazards, take appropriate precautions, and choose appropriate PPE as dictated by need, regulation, and labeling.
