About the Role:Job Summary
The Director of Finance, Regional Market/Service Line will have a matrixed reporting structure with a direct line to the Vice President of Financial Operations and a dotted line to the operational leadership of the market(s) or service line as assigned. The position will further support both finance and the operational leaders for all services related to budget development, budget monitoring, productivity, workforce management, recruitment and retention and other related projects and activities. The Director of Finance will be the primary liaison for all finance related activity for the market(s) they are assigned.

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities
Contribute to the strategic plan for department services, including short-term and long-term objectives.
Collect and analyze feedback and evaluate service/department effectiveness.
Works collaboratively with leaders across NGHS to refine tools, methods, and assure other stakeholder department's efforts are aligned. Keep abreast of recent trends and developments in process innovation and organizational effectiveness in healthcare as well as other industries. Understand various process innovation methodologies and tailors them to meet business needs.
Manages finance and budget activities for assigned service lines. This includes activities related to both Operating and Capital.
Collaborates across departments and divisions to support hospital and operational service-line missions.
Assist clinical function with required division and hospital-wide compliance activities and related tracking.
Collaborates with Recruitment and Retention staff to support all related activities and programs.
Collaborate with operations leadership with focus on reducing premium pay, supporting productivity standards and supporting contract staff management services.
Collaborate with national/external productivity benchmarking programs to guide in the development of staffing plans and productivity guidelines for clinical services.
Collaborate with Finance leaders in regard to budget, charge master and other related activities.
Has a full understanding of budget activities; uses knowledge to engage with leaders and direct activities.
Full understanding of budget and financial IT systems and reports relating Operating Budgets, Capital Requisitions and Special Purpose Fund budgets.
In collaboration with operational leaders, review/monitor monthly financial reports; recommend/develop actions as appropriate; Groom clinical leaders at all levels in budget development and management.
Leads Dashboard activities for service-lines.
Works with stakeholders to identify and create appropriate reports and systems.
Outline and develop processes for clinical services financial activities.
Mentor all department leaders in budget and finance services.
Understand all IT tools required to perform position functions at a level of excellence.
Works with IT department as necessary to resolve IT issues and enhancement requests for new capabilities.
Identify opportunities for operational improvements.
Serves as a first level reviewer for Operational Managers work products.
Leads special projects that cross-over multiple service-lines.
Attends strategy based meetings as a proxy for other finance leadership.
