Senior Accountant - US Buying Group Department Demant Group Services Finance Job Locations US-NJ-Somerset Job ID 2024-22130 Overview William Demant, a leading global company in hearing healthcare is currently seeking a Senior Accountant. William Demant is the umbrella for a number of independent companies including Oticon Inc. within hearing care and treatment of hearing loss. Responsibilities The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure accurate and timely accounting and reporting. This person will also support various process improvement projects and corporate initiatives for the Accounting Department. This position is expected to perform at a high level of accountability and reliability of work. Develop and maintain accounting process and procedures to improve efficiency Document process and procedures for process improvements Reconcile general ledger and prepare monthly financial statements Review, analyze and reconcile general ledger account balances monthly Balance Sheet and P&L Variance analysis performed on a monthly basis Assist with implementation and maintenance of department goals, policies, and operating procedures Develop in-depth knowledge of various complex business processes and understand their impact on various transactional systems and related accounting. Where automation is lacking, ensure manual processes with proper controls and documentation exist to support accounting Prepare and/or review journal entries to support accurate and timely accounting month-end close. This includes reviewing transactional sources and verification of system interfaces where applicable to ensure data integrity Month end financial reporting, including a consolidated financial statement Monthly review of financial statements with business leaders/ and or accounting leadership Ad Hoc Analysis for executive management Analyze current and past trends in various KPI metrics Investigate account discrepancies and issues with account reconciliations Assist with annual audit requests Assist with tax analysis and workpapers Contribute to the development of new/amended accounting systems May perform miscellaneous tasks/projects as directed by manager. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance Minimum 3-5 years working in the Accounting/Finance field Knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (manipulation and creation of Pivot Tables and utilization of V-Lookups & Sum-Ifs) Excellent time management and organizational skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Highly self-motivated, proactive, and results driven Ability to work well in a fast-paced organization Ability to work with executive management Dedication to continuous self and process improvement LI-DB1 IND1 Need help finding the right job?
