Job Description:
We are looking for a skilled Software Developer to join our Transportation Management team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in developing applications for the trucking and logistics industry, with expertise in integrating Transportation Management System (TMS) software.
You Will:
Develop web-based applications and APIs that interface with TMS software
Collaborate with Business Analysts and Transportation Management staff to understand and implement business requirements
Design, code, test, and debug software applications
Integrate third-party APIs, particularly those from TMS providers like Samsara and Mercury Gate
Maintain and improve existing software systems
Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices
Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in transportation management
Develop and maintain EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) integrations
Implement route optimization and load planning algorithms
You Have
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
3+ years of experience in software development, preferably in the transportation or logistics industry
Proficiency in C# and Python programming languages
Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms
Familiarity with RESTful API development and integration
Knowledge of database design and management (SQL and NoSQL)
Understanding of software development life cycle and Agile methodologies
Experience with EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) implementation
Familiarity with GPS and telematics integration
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Samsara, Mercury Gate, or other TMS API integrations
Familiarity with front-end technologies (e.g., JavaScript, React, Angular)
Knowledge of containerization and microservices architecture
Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)
Mobile app development experience (iOS and/or Android)
Understanding of IoT devices and their integration in fleet management
Knowledge of optimization algorithms for route planning and load optimization
Key Competencies

Excellent attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Good communication skills for collaborating with non-technical stakeholders

Location:
Omaha, NE, Dallas-FortWorth, TX, Austin, TX, Louisville, KY, Memphis, TN, or Atlanta, GA preferred, but other locations may be a potential.
