Harborview Medical Center has an outstanding opportunity for a Clinical Nurse Educator (RN) in the AACS Population Health Program. WORK SCHEDULE:
100% FTE
Day Shift
Flexibility in meeting workload demands which may include occasional evenings and weekends DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION: The Population Health Program must work closely with AACS clinics, across the HMC care continuum and across UW Medicine system to implement the evolving vision, goals and processes of population health in a rapidly changing environment. The AACS Population Health Program is a division level program with operations occurring across the care continuum and into the community, with close linkages with colleagues and leaders across UW Medicine. To manage operations and deliver a consistent and high-quality service to patients this position must partner and communicate frequently with clinical and operational leaders from HMC departments, AACS clinics (especially primary care), UW Medicine Population heath, care Management and others. This position represents the program operations in various venues. As program develops, may supervise additional staff. POSITION HIGHLIGHTS:

Provide support to the management team for the assurance of clinical workforce competence in ambulatory care clinics
Emphasize service excellence, patient and staff safety, commitment to inclusiveness and diversity, and organizational integration
Ensures, leads, and participates in ongoing clinic/department clinical orientation and education processes to support patient safety and quality, regulatory compliance and professional development
Collaborates across Harborview and UW Medicine departments to drive efficiency and clinical education effectiveness, including close partnership with HMC Professional Development & Nursing Education, other UW Medicine educators, and shared services, such as EPIC informatics staff
Adapts and develops and evaluates nursing care education in response to changes in evidence, practice needs, regulatory requirements and standard work development
Plans, implements and evaluates orientation program for permanent and temporary clinical staff
Plans, implements and evaluates orientation and placements for assigned students, apprentices, and externs
Promotes and supports a high functioning team environment that fosters continuous learning and professional development
Participates in and presents content at key committees such as nursing procedure development, regulatory workgroups, infection control/high level disinfection, Magnet Steering Committee, and quality and safety REQUIREMENTS:
Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Washington
BSN
3-5 years Ambulatory Care Clinical Experience
2 years leadership experience; e.g. nurse manager/assistant manager, charge, preceptor, educator
Demonstrated ability to assess, create and develop learning solutions; translate staff learning needs into solutions
Demonstrated ability to analyze practice issues and implement solutions/improvements informed by evidence
Demonstrated ability to develop, teach and evaluate education offerings (using multiple modalities, in-person and virtual)
Demonstrated ability to work within a multidisciplinary group setting
Knowledge of shared governance, ambulatory care nurse professional practice scope and standards, and ambulatory care nurse sensitive indicators
Demonstrated clinical experience in chronic care and transitional care management in ambulatory care.
