Position Description
Key contributor for the corporate credit team, responsible for assessing and monitoring credit risk for a portfolio of counterparties, as well as proactively managing collateral (such as PGs, LCs and pre-payments) to protect future revenues and capital investments
Duties & Responsibilities:
Perform credit analysis using GAAP financial statements, internal scoring models and other outside sources to make recommendations, such as whether open credit is warranted and/or collateral should be required
Negotiate credit provisions in commercial agreements and various security-related documents (e.g., guarantees, letters of credit)
Collateral management, including tracking incoming and outgoing guarantees, letters of credit, prepayments and other forms of collateral, as well as monitoring expiration dates to ensure required credit support is in place
Conduct routine credit reviews of existing customers to ensure awareness of a change in financial condition that may require additional credit assurance
Prepare daily and weekly credit reports used by executive leadership to assess payment timeliness of non-IG/non-rated customers, as well as monitor the credit exposures of gas and crude marketing entities
Maintain up-to-date credit ratings and collateral position of marketing customers in Energy Trading & Risk Management (ETRM) software to ensure trading activity is within established limits
Monitor energy market developments and customer announcements to build depth of knowledge and understanding of industry trends
Other corporate credit reports / responsibilities that may be assigned
Position Requirements
Position Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field
2 - 5 years of experience in corporate credit, finance, accounting, or similar field
Prior experience in energy industry, specifically gas marketing, terminals, and/or crude marketing is preferred
Self-starter with ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and competing priorities, meet deadlines and prioritize workload
Strong communication skills and comfort engaging on credit topics with credit, commercial, treasury and executive teams
Solid understanding of GAAP financial statements and credit risk (leverage metric) evaluation with energy-experience preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required
Familiarity with Bloomberg and ETRM systems a plus
