ITW is seeking a talented, highly motivated individual to join its Corporate Accounting Team as a Manager. The Manager will have a strong understanding of financial processes within a large multinational corporate environment, strong written and verbal communication skills, demonstrated analytical skills, and be able to work independently. The Manager will report to the Director, Corporate Accounting and has significant interaction/collaboration with External Reporting, Treasury, Tax, Legal, Risk Management and HR/Payroll.

Expected Core Responsibilities

Lead/coordinate/review the month-end/year-end close process for the Corporate ledger in compliance with company policy and GAAP

Supervise accounts payable process including weekly payment runs, vendor management, 1099 reporting and unclaimed property filings

Manage ERP(Great Plains) and report writer(JetReports) including system updates, security management, G/L maintenance and year end close routines

Manage equity-related activity including stock compensation, preparation of 10K disclosures and basic/dilutive share calculations

Participate in annual budget process including consolidation and analysis of Corporate departments

Liaise with Tax department to manage world-wide ITW Intellectual Property billing program

Assist in preparation and review of quarterly reporting package for Corporate balance sheet including variance analysis

Establish and maintain effective SOX internal controls over financial processes

Lead assigned projects to implement best practices and increase efficiency of department procedures and processes

Ad-hoc analysis of department expenditures and results as requested

Supervise, lead and develop team of 3 accounting professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required, CPA a plus

10+ years of experience in Corporate Accounting

Experience with equity compensation accounting, preferred not required

Strong working knowledge of GAAP

Experience handling highly sensitive information with integrity and maintaining a high level of confidentiality and professionalism

Ability to be in the office 5 days a week at the Glenview corporate campus with flexibility on hours.

High level of proficiency in utilizing Excel, including advanced formulas and pivot tables; demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Dynamics GP and Oracle HFM a plus

Effective time management skills to manage multiples priorities and deadlines simultaneously

Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work in a diverse and multicultural environment are essential

Strong analytical skills and business/financial acumen

Attention to detail, with high standards of accuracy and review

Ability to execute projects efficiently and effectively with limited supervision
