How you make a difference
ThePsychiatristprovidesa comprehensive range of psychiatric services to incarceratedpatients, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health disorders. Additionally, the Psychiatristprovidesclinical consultation to mental health and health care staff onidentifiedcases, ensuring high-quality mental health care for inmates. Overall, the position requires a strong commitment to providing compassionate care, sound clinical judgment, and effective communication with interdisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
Provide psychiatric services to inmatepatients, including evaluations, treatment, and monitoring of psychotropic medications in compliance with professional and company policies and procedures.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure uniformity of mental health services and documentation of psychiatric services.
Providesupervision and oversight to psychiatricnurse(if applicable) and consultation/training services to mental health and medical staff.
Participate in involuntary medication of high-risk inmates andprovidedocumentation of psychiatric services contacts asrequested.
Exercise independent medical judgment in diagnosis and treatment of patients while adhering to approved medication formulary and notifyingappropriate staffof clinical or administrative concerns.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
Doctorate in psychiatry.
Experience
Training and experience providing psychiatric services to an adult population.
Licenses/Certifications
Physician who is licensed to practice medicine in the state of employment
Board-certified or board-eligible in psychiatry.
CPR Certified.
Additional Details
Must be licensed in the State of California. This is an onsite position.
