JOB SUMMARY:The Physical Therapy Manager/Physical Therapist position will have responsibility for running and coordinating the physical therapy department.

Will manage the clinical staff and provide support to business office staff to ensure all financial and service objectives are met.

Will have responsibility for daily patient physical therapy treatment involving phone and in person interaction with both patients and physicians; will provide patient care as prescribed by the referring physician, including evaluation and assessment, design of treatment programs, implementation and supervision of treatment programs and educational services.

Will also maintain and update patient case files.QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be a graduate of an accredited physical therapy curriculum.Current State Physical Therapy licensure required.Possess a current BLS certification.Bachelor’s degree in management, hospital administration or business strongly preferred.

Business office management experience in health care related industry.Experience in medical coding, billing, cash management, collections, contract maintenance, inventory management and accounts payable.Computer experience required in windows, spreadsheets, and word processing.Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate in a friendly and professional manner with both patients and physicians.Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to accurately document information for billing purposes.OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSUREOffice/Clinic environmentRESPONSIBILITIES:

Manages all clinical staff.Assists in the annual budgeting process for the facility.Monitors monthly key indicators, making adjustments as necessary.Creates and implements policies and procedures designed to maximize expense control.Monitors work load and personnel needs of Clinical and Business Office staff.Trains, develops and motivates Clinical and Business Office Staff in all EMR systems.Assists in analyzing monthly financial and management reports.Trains on site staff on preparation and processing of all invoices in accordance to Accounts Payable Policies.Assumes any other responsibilities that may be assigned from the COO.Evaluation and assessment of patient’s physical therapy needs.Formulation of specific plan of treatment and goals for patients.Review of treatment protocols with prescribing physician.Implementation of physician approved physical therapy services for defined patient.Participate in treatment plan review and ongoing patient care reassessments.Accurate documentation to ensure timely and correct billing.Ensure compliancy when billing Medicare.Leadership ability to direct and assist other clinical staff as necessary.Provide exceptional customer service when interacting with patients and physicians.Provide necessary educational services and participates in facility in-service activities.Works to ensure a safe and clean facility including physical plant and equipment maintenance and supply inventory upkeep.Handles Utilization Review; Quality Assurance; Program Evaluation; Infection Control; Safety Committee activities and other activities as directedProvide Patient Care and all activities related to patient treatment on a daily, weekly and monthly basis to ensure quality care is performed directly and indirectly by other clinicians.PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
