This role involves collaborating with subject matter experts (SMEs), technical staff, and business development teams to gather and translate technical information into clear, concise, and compelling proposal content. The Junior Technical Proposal Writer position is ideal for individuals with strong writing skills who are looking to grow their careers in technical writing and federal procurement.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in drafting, editing, and formatting technical, management, and past performance sections of proposals.Research and analyze client requirements, objectives, and specifications outlined in Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs), and other solicitation documents.Translate complex technical information into clear and engaging narratives tailored to the target audience.Work closely with senior proposal writers, capture managers, and SMEs to gather technical and operational inputs.Support brainstorming sessions to identify win themes and key differentiators for proposals.Collaborate with graphic designers to incorporate visuals, such as charts and diagrams, that enhance the readability and impact of proposals.Assist in formatting and proofreading documents to meet solicitation requirements and company guidelines.Contribute to the development and maintenance of a centralized repository of reusable proposal content, including boilerplate text and templates.Update and revise content to reflect current capabilities, past performance, and lessons learned.QualificationsEducation:Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered.Experience:1-2 years of experience in technical writing, proposal development, or a related field is preferred but not required.Experience working with government RFPs or technical documentation is a plusTechnical Skills:Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat.Familiarity with proposal management tools such as SharePoint or other content management systems is desirable.Core Competencies:Strong writing and editing skills, with attention to detail and the ability to adapt to different writing styles and tonesStrong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.Willingness to learn and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.Preferred Attributes:Eagerness to learn federal procurement processes and develop technical writing expertise.Ability to receive and incorporate feedback into work.Interest in technology, engineering, or other technical fields is a plus.
