Job Title: HVAC Facilities Mechanic

Responsibilities Daily monitoring, repair and preventative maintenance (PM) activities on all types of HVAC and refrigeration equipment, critical systems and facility equipment in order to keep it in proper and effective operating conditionResponsible for all aspects of HVAC and refrigeration equipment maintenance while complying with cGMPs, SOPs, and FDA requirementsPerforms routine and complex work related to troubleshooting, repair, and upgrade of HVAC and refrigeration equipment; Identifies, repairs, maintains, installs and/or replaces HVAC systems and equipment in order to ensure a proper and efficient working unitAssists in performing root cause analysis on equipment failures to support investigations; Diagnoses causes of problems and/or failures in heating/cooling/refrigeration systems for the purpose of identifying equipment and/or systems repair and/or replacement needs; Inspects all systems and their components for the purpose of evaluating condition, identifying necessary repairs and recommending preventative maintenanceAssists in the validation of existing and new equipment
Requirements AS degree or 2-year technical school diploma in the HVAC or mechanical/electrical field4+ years of experience handling and servicing HVAC equipment in a manufacturing environment; Pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry experience is a plusExtensive hands on knowledge of all types of HVAC and refrigeration equipmentUniversal chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) recovery certification requiredLow pressure Black Seal boiler license requiredCurrent working knowledge of electrical and plumbing trades including the ability to interpret blueprints, technical manuals and specificationsDemonstrated ability to read and interpret documents such as safety and environmental policies, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manualsProficiency with Microsoft OfficeAbility and willingness to work additional hours as required by business needs
