HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

As a Machine Learning Engineer, your work will contribute directly to protecting the country from global threats. You will apply your expertise in AI, machine learning, and computer vision to revolutionize the way intelligence is processed and analyzed using geospatial data.
YOUR MISSION:
You will develop and deploy advanced multimodal deep learning models to support critical GeoAI capabilities, enhancing analytical workflows and addressing high-priority intelligence challenges. Working at the forefront of State-of-the-Art (SOTA) Computer Vision (CV) and Vision-Language Models (VLM), you will enable sophisticated solutions such as image retrieval, segmentation, AI-assisted labeling, and object detection using a variety of geospatial datasets, including satellite imagery, full-motion video (FMV), ground photos, and OpenStreetMap.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM:
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, or equivalent experience5+ years of relevant experience in machine learning and AI applications
Core Skills:
Advanced AI/ML Techniques: Expertise in transfer learning, knowledge distillation, and fine-tuning of pre-trained models (CNNs like ResNet/U-Net) for object detection, segmentation, and image analysis, especially with satellite imagery.Containerization: Strong background in developing secure, containerized Python applications, with experience in hardening, CI/CD automation, and deployment using technologies like Docker, OpenShift, and Kubernetes.Data Pipelines: Proficient in querying and retrieving geospatial imagery through S3-compliant APIs and implementing common preprocessing tasks using Boto3, NumPy, and other libraries.Deep Learning: Proficiency in frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow, focusing on optimizing deep learning models for real-world intelligence applications.GPU Computing: Experience leveraging GPU acceleration (CUDA) to enhance computational efficiency in machine learning workflows.Version Control: Expertise in GitLab and related version control systems for collaborative development.
Bonus Skills:
Familiarity with Vision Transformers (ViT) such as DINO and DeiT.Experience with Hugging Face Transformers, XAI techniques, and ONNX.Knowledge of creating, managing, and deploying containerized applications using OpenShift, Helm, and Kustomize.Strong ability to communicate complex AI models, methodologies, and results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Experience with building and maintaining verification and validation test benches for AI models.
