Responsibilities:

Instrumentation & Equipment Technicians will work in one or more of the following areas:Troubleshooting and repair of all items making up the test cell facility, including drive systems, fuel systems, dynamometers, pumps, heaters, heat exchangers, collecting motor vibration data, filter replacement, installing and calibrating cell transducers, harness and wiring troubleshooting, etc.Installation, calibration, set-up, and troubleshooting of exhaust gas emission measurement equipment.Equipment preventive and predictive maintenance work

Requirements

We are seeking an Engineering Maintenance and technical support Technician to work in several teams where you will demonstrate your knowledge, skills, and learning abilities with a nominal amount of cross training. More experienced applicants will manage most project responsibilities rather than working on parts of a job and possess the ability to mentor other technicians. I&E technicians can expect to work in various areas of the lab. This typically involves troubleshooting test cell systems and equipment, calibrating instrumentation, and performing preventative maintenance. The group seeks to minimize downtime to maximize efficiency while driving continuous improvement.Associates Degree or equivalent experience in an electrical-related field (circuit level, machine controls/maintenance, high voltage, commercial electrical, etc.) and/or related certifications; Bachelor’s Degree preferred3-5+ years of electrical and/or mechanical hands-on experience and capabilityWelding and fabrication without clear direction.Familiarity with any of the kinds of systems mentioned in the paragraph aboveMust be comfortable working on 480VAC and 1000VDC systems, potentially while energized and understand associated risk reduction techniquesBe able to interpret electrical and mechanical drawingsMust have broad troubleshooting skillsTask breakdown – come onsite check emails, every shift has a team lead, team lead will host a kick off meeting in the morning, creates a plan for their shift, get a job assignment from their team lead and execute that work, they can get help from the team lead if needed during their shift, eventually will be able to source their own work and manage themselves.Examples of a plan for the day - Test cell is down, vehicle had a high emission value for gas, would need to verify operation of equipment, run test to make sure it’s working correctly, check filters, give to another team to test, might be some scheduled maintenance doing different calibration tests, changing filters and fluids, pick up from where the last shift left off.Attend team meetings, maintain, repair, calibrate and verify various equipment supporting emissions testing in a professional work environment.Interaction level with the team – working with their team lead, might work in pairs or individually depending on the project, 6 total people on the team on 2nd shift.Work environment – test facility, clean space, lab orientated space, climate controlled, all indoors.Degree – High School Diploma
