Health Physicist 2 - AUKUS -- Nuclear Fuel Services - Erwin, TN
Summary Description of Job:
Executes a radiological control program through the evaluation and interpretation of monitoring data and the application of experience. Recommends procedural changes to ensure radiation exposures are within established limits.
Major Duties & Responsibilities of Job:
1. Proficient in standard Health Physics procedures and knowledgeable in all applicable regulations and issues.
2. Actively contributes to the development of radiation safety policies and procedures.
3. May provide leadership to less experienced radiation safety personnel and act as lead person or technical advisor on small projects.
4. Performs design reviews of the facility and proposed changes.
5. Develops or revises procedures as needed to solve problems.
6. Performs routine inspections and may serve as liaison with inspection personnel from regulatory agencies.
7. Performs review of routine radiation safety data and performs investigations as directed by procedure.
8. Generates routine reports to management and as directed by procedures.
Education:
B. S. -- Science or Engineering OR in lieu of B. S. degree eight (8) years of experience in radiation safety OR
M. S. -- Science or Engineering OR
Ph.D. -- Science or Engineering
Experience (Beyond educational or equivalent requirements):
With B. S. degree, one (1) years' experience in radiation safety is required to demonstrate ability to apply technical knowledge to plant situations and requirements or without B.S. degree nine (9) years' experience in radiation safety.
With M. S. degree less than one (1) year experience in radiation safety is required to demonstrate ability to apply technical knowledge to plant situations and requirements.
NOTE: NRRPT Certification equivalent to a B.S. degree.
Pay: $63,000 - $99,000
The base salary range for this position in Tennessee (US-TN) at the start of employment is expected to be between $63,000 and $99,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement. The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
