Overall responsibility:
Trellance is seeking a talented individual with a strong background in Snowflake Administration and Database Management. If you have the expertise and passion for optimizing data architectures, we want to hear from you! This role demands a highly technical and hands-on approach to manage and optimize our Snowflake database environments. You will be responsible for overseeing the administration of Snowflake, participating in architectural discussions, and ensuring the security and efficiency of our data processes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Administer and optimize Snowflake environments, preferably on Azure, with a focus on performance tuning and management of warehouses.Develop stored procedures using SQL and procedural languages across major RDBMS platforms like Oracle, DB2, Postgres, or SQL Server.Participate in architectural design discussions to enhance system functionality and efficiency.Implement best practices for user, data, and network security within Snowflake.Manage data ingress and egress patterns between Snowflake and various cloud service providers.Identify and implement cost reduction strategies to optimize Snowflake resource utilization.Fine-tune Snowflake configurations for optimal performance and cost efficiency, including warehouse size adjustments and scaling strategies.Monitor and analyze usage patterns to provide recommendations for resource allocation and cost-saving measures.Provide production support and collaborate with teams to ensure the reliability of data processes.Advocate for continuous improvement and efficiency in data management practices.Requirements
Minimum Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) or Master's Degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or Information Technology, from an accredited college or university plus a minimum of Three (3) years of hands-on Snowflake Administration experience. SnowPro Core certification strongly, preferred. SnowPro Advanced Administrator certification is desired.
Company / Industry Knowledge:
Prior experience in a technology field is a must. Prior experience in banking, credit union or financial services industries is strongly preferred. Experience with data warehouse solutions is also preferred.
Other Experience:
10+ years of hands-on DBA experience with large data warehouses.Proficiency in Snowflake platform architecture and its functions/features.Strong SQL & PL/SQL experience or other database programming languages.Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work within teams and present ideas clearly.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
