Interstates is currently seeking a full-time
Material Handler
to join our Topeka manufacturing team. This role will provide direct support to our Manufacturing team, as defined in the primary job duties section, below. An ideal candidate will be results driven, safety-minded, and work well with a team. Responsibilities
The Material Handler is responsible for loading and unloading materials and maintaining inventory within the facility
Operates lifting equipment to move products and materials within the facility and storage yardLoads/unloads products and materials - includes strapping, bracing, and/or padding to prevent damageUnpacks, verifies, and records incoming merchandise and material - ensures accuracy/condition, reports discrepancies/damageAssembles wooden or cardboard containers, or selects pre-assembled containers - prepares manufactured goods for shipmentMaintains inventory of shipping materials and suppliesResponsible for light vehicle maintenance (lift and automobile)Other duties may be assigned.Qualifications
Education and/or Experience:
High School diploma or GED.Must be able to work with machinery such as a forklift.Must have some electrical knowledge and know the parts of the trade.
Travel:
Travel will be minimal for this position.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, this role may be exposed to high/precarious places, risk of electrical shock, and all outside weather conditions. Depending on the role, one may be expected to climb and work at heights and in confined spaces. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Due to the nature of our work and our client base, the role may involve tasks in an environment exposed to dust. Candidates should be comfortable working in these conditions and complying with safety standards to protect their well-being.
