Job Title: Quality InspectorJob DescriptionThe Quality Inspector verifies routine product conformance to design requirements and provides objective evidence of results. This role involves performing auditing, surveillance, and monitoring, identifying and documenting discrepancies, and segregating and controlling non-conforming items. The inspector will perform preliminary review and disposition of non-conformance and conduct product reviews with customers during product or process verification. The position also requires identifying repetitive or significant non-conformances and initiating requests for corrective action. Under limited supervision, the inspector will inspect incoming parts/materials, verify outgoing orders, check parts for processing and special orders, and use tools such as micrometers, gauge controls, calipers, and indicators daily. Additionally, the inspector will provide mentorship throughout the Inspection team.ResponsibilitiesConduct dimensional inspections per design record and documented AQL levels.Perform visual inspections for obvious defects.Review and disposition all certification documentation to meet traceability requirements per AS9100 and Company Quality standards; communicate with vendors as needed.Disposition and control of non-conforming products.Obtain and maintain Customer Designated Supplier Quality Representative Stamps for at least three customers (or as applicable by Site size); active use of stamps required.Review and approve First Articles from suppliers.Identify and communicate opportunities to increase inspector productivity.Assist with RCCA activities pertaining to Inspection.Assist in internal, customer, and third-party audits.Essential Skills1-2 years of related work experience (2-4 years preferred).Equivalent combination of formal education, on-the-job training, and/or work experience.Previous aerospace inspection experience.Experience in QA inspection methods and procedures, including First Article Inspection.Fluent in English (reading, writing, and verbal communication).Strong analytical, organizational, and troubleshooting skills.Required to pass documented color and near vision exam.Knowledge of AS9100 requirements.Experience in the usage of calipers, ring/pin gages, comparator, and Smart scope.Proficient PC skills and use of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel).Understanding of Six Sigma / team concepts.Advanced GD&T Skills - Optical Comparator, CMM, Layout, Vision Scope Systems.Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities.Additional Skills & QualificationsQuality assuranceQuality inspectionQuality controlDocument reviewAerospaceCalipersVisual inspectionExcellent English communication skills (verbal and written)Document control, print, scan, review, organizeAttention to detailWritten communicationReceivingInspectionAS9100Work EnvironmentThe work environment is an office setting within a warehouse that is air-conditioned, very clean, and well-organized.
