Job Title: Quality Inspector
Job Description
Under limited supervision, this position is responsible for inspecting a wide variety of parts, assemblies, tooling fixtures, and materials to ensure compliance with customer requirements, company specifications, and quality requirements. You will set up, operate, inspect, test, and adjust new and reworked tools, dies, gauges, jigs, Laser Tracker System, CMM, and fixtures for conformance to engineering drawings and specifications. Additionally, you will maintain, process, and compile a variety of confidential and sensitive electronic and hard copy reports, records, and metrics. Assignments may be non-routine, requiring judgment and assessment to resolve complex issues.ResponsibilitiesInspect machined parts, components, assemblies, and materials to ensure compliance with appropriate regulatory guidelines (Military Standards, ASTM, AWS, ANSI, and ASME Code).Provide various electronic and hard copy reports of inspections and notify appropriate parties, including project engineers.Set up and operate measuring and test equipment, including Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).Operate CMM equipment to achieve part acceptance, including equipment set up, inspection techniques, and final dimensional inspections while products are in-process manufacturing.Prepare, update, and maintain computer databases.Observe testing and provide quality oversight necessary to verify compliance with requirements and standards.Essential SkillsExperience with inspection, GD&T, quality inspection, production, visual inspection, quality control, and quality assurance.Proficiency in using spatial analyzer, CMM, CMM programming, CMM inspection, visual inspection, quality checks, blueprint reading, micrometers, and calipers.Knowledge of PC-DMIS and GD&T.Experience with aerospace, aviation, or submarine backgrounds is preferred but not required.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with Spatial Analyzer Software is a plus.Willingness to relocate or contract onsite in Tupelo, MS.Work Environment
This position is onsite at a facility in Tupelo, MS. The work environment includes working with various technologies and equipment, such as Laser Tracker System and CMM. You will work under the supervision of the immediate supervisor and collaborate closely with both the manager and director.About Actalent
