Position Overview:
In partnership with their manager the Associate Merchandise Planner is responsible for developing, executing, and maintaining merchandise plans for a category or sub-category. Achieving inventory goals (Open to Buy, Turn, Productivity, and Sell Thru). Supports and executes global initiatives and merchandise strategies, and performs Ad Hoc Analysis when necessary

Work Environment:At Duluth Trading Company, we value face-to-face interactions that foster our culture of learning, creativity, and teamwork. The role is based at our headquarters near Madison, WI. You will work in the office Monday through Thursday, with the option to work remotely from home on Fridays if you prefer.
What You’ll Do:
Develops pre-season bottom-up product level plansBased on strategies, partners closely with merchants to ensure products are ranking appropriatelyShows engagement of key strategies and is able to translate to financial metricsPartners with Merchants to ensure financial investments are fiscally responsible and support key merchandise strategiesDevelops pre-season financial flow strategies to drive turn, revising in-seasonAccurately maintains systems with key financial KPIs and metricsUnderstands product development calendar and has ability to work independently to hit key deliverables and deadlinesAble to articulate sales plans and targetRevises and maintains in-season product level forecastsAnalyzes and identifies selling trends, taking action to maximize selling potential and minimize risk to financial objectives and profitabilityManages in-season reforecasting at a color level throughout product life cycle to achieve target sell throughPartners with Merchants to effectively manage selling opportunities and riskAccurately maintains systems with key financial KPIs and metricsAble to articulate in-season performance to planDevelops and fosters strong vendor partnerships
What We’re Looking For:Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
Equivalent work experience would be considered
2 years of experience in retail planning management and/or inventory planning and forecastingPlanning and Forecasting system experienceReporting tools experience, as well as Microsoft ExcelQuantitative analytical skills, ability to form conclusions using numerical dataSystems aptitude, knows how and when to use systems to make decisionsTechnical knowledge, understands forecasting definitions and formulasSense of ownership, approaches company business as if it were their ownSense of urgency, proactive identification of opportunities and risksAbility to work independently, under time constraints, and prioritize multiple job responsibilities to meet critical deadlinesDuluth Headquarters Benefits and PerksAs we continue to grow Duluth Trading Company and its house of brands, the perks have perked up, too.
