Travel rate is available for local travelers if their start date is on or before 12/16.

RTO after booking is not allowed and is not allowed to be worked out onsite. Any call offs or additional RTO on unit, could possibly turn into a cancel and DNR.

REQUIRED SKILLS / CERTS / EXP:
Minimum Years of Experience: 2 Years
Traveler Experience: Unit WILL ACCEPT 1st Time Travelers with minimum of 2 years experience.
Locals Accepted / Rate Difference: Yes
Skills: Telemetry, Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias
***Unit wants at least a 2 to 3 self rating for Arterial Line Management and at least a 3 for BOTH Titratable Cardiac & Vasoactive Drips***
Certs: ACLS, BCLS

JOB DETAILS:
RATIOS: ****Nurse: patient ratios vary from 1:3-6 depending on patient acuity. Would never take more than 4 ICCU patients. The 6 patient ratio is for the cardiac-tele patients, which would include our sister units if you are floated to them****
36 Hours Can Be Offered
Unit will accept contracts from 13 weeks+ up to March 15, 2025 (hard stop) to get the Unit through the Holidays!
12 HOUR NIGHTS
Float Requirement: Yes, required to float within scope as needed.
Weekend Requirement: must work 4-5 weekend shifts every 6 weeks.

PATIENT DIAGNOSES: Our intermediate patient population mostly consists of post-operative cardiothoracic surgery & structural heart patients. This patient population includes open heart surgery & thoracotomy patients POD 1, TAVR & VATS surgeries from PACU, and esophagogastrostomy patients. This patient population requires the nurse to maintain a-lines, titratable gtts, BIPAP, trachs, heated high flow, epidurals & PCAs, temporary epicardial pacemakers, blake drains, chest tubes, etc.

SPECIAL PROCEDURES / UNIT DETAILS: The cardiothoracic surgery patients downgrade to cardiac telemetry on the unit during their post-op recovery & stay with us until discharge home, accounting for the cardiac telemetry patient population on the unit. In addition, we also take overflow cardiac and medical intermediate patients. Our unit is known for providing exceptional patient care, as reflected in our high patient satisfaction scores, and we are known for how well we mobilize our patients. Our nurses require high-level critical thinking skills and cardiac knowledge that allows them to confidently care for their patients in a fast-pace environment.

SPECIAL EQUIPMENT: Bedside monitors in all rooms.

UNIT SYSTEMS: PYXSIS, Dimensions/Epic, SBAR

SCHEDULING TYPE: Self-Scheduling

UNIT ORIENTATION: 24 Hours

SCRUBS: Navy or White
