Mortgage Underwriters
Role - Responsible for mortgage and home equity test case audits and builds to ensure compliance with lending guidelines, financial reform, credit quality, and data integrity. Did we, underwrite this loan correctly, errors we made, steps we skipped, impact to customer if any. Looking to do "testing" or "auditing" of the existing loans during the underwriting process to ensure everything was done correctly and identify, document where things were not correct.
• Review all Critical defects identified through Quality Control for Investor delivery and reporting,
• Complete quality control reviews of origination and servicing loan files for quality
• Preparation and quality review of loan files for investor and legal audit requests,
• Quality Assurance review of Quality Controls adherence to policy and guidelines
• Quality Assurance review of QC's test of the origination file
Experience Needed
• 5-7 years current experience working as an Underwriter for Consumer loans.
• Extensive experience in underwriting conventional, FHA, VA, and Bond loans.
• Comprehensive analysis of complex loans to evaluate borrower's credit and repayment abilities.
• Knowledge of credit profile including review of credit report, complex tax returns, income and assets statements, title, etc.
