How this role drives the company forward:
The Territory Manager I is responsible for achieving sales revenue targets in assigned territories throughout North America. The Territory Manager I will have a strong understanding of molecular biology and exhibit an entrepreneurial spirit with a desire to build a successful sales career at Takara Bio USA.

The Territory Manager I role is remote-based and required to maintain residency within the identified ideal location(s) of the territory.

Approximately 50% travel, including overnight, may be required.

How you will make an impact:
In this role, you will be responsible for achieving sales revenue targets in the territories of New York City and Long Island. The ideal candidate will reside in the greater New York area (NYC, 5 boroughs or northern NJ), have intimate knowledge of key accounts in the academic market segment including Columbia, Weill Cornell, Memorial Sloan Cancer Center and Rockefeller University. In this role, you will demonstrate a creative approach to drive results and build customer relations. In addition, there are opportunities to participate as a member of one of Takara's market development teams to help form product messaging and contribute to our product and/or sales development channels.

What will you do:
  • Responsible for the sales of company's products within assigned territory. Achievement will be made via maintenance of existing customers and development of new opportunities and relationships.
  • Develops a mastery of TBUSA products and marketplace knowledge. The TM I will develop a strong understanding of the product portfolio, can explain technical details and communicate the product messaging to customers.
  • Employs selling skills to identify, advance and close opportunities. Works with regional manager to analyze sales data, uncover opportunity, and develop mastery of the life science marketplace. The TM I will demonstrate strong presentation abilities.
  • Demonstrates ability to analyze sales data, creates strategic plans and develops tactical action plans to identify opportunities and drive sales success.
  • Leverages customer relationship management (CRM) software tool to manage tactical plans and drive daily sales activities. Ensures full transparency of customer information and activities across the organization through daily documentation of customer interactions.
  • Provides timely feedback from customers to marketing and management on product performance, and critical competitor activity.
  • Provides timely communication and follow-up to customers; consistently exceeding expectations.
  • This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
How will you get here?
  • BS, MS, PhD, in Cell, Molecular Biology or related life science discipline.
  • 1-2 years of successful sales experience at a life science research tools company.
  • 2-4 years lab bench experience in Cell, Molecular Biology, or related area.
  • Must have and maintain a satisfactory driving record, valid driving license, and automobile insurance at all times.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and present information.
  • Familiarity with MS Office Suite and exposure to Salesforce.com or similar CRM tools.

The US base salary range for this full-time position, expected to be located in the greater New York area, is $90,000 - $105,000 USD. This range may be modified at any time at our sole discretion.
