Summary This position is located in the Office of Chief Human Capital Officer (OCHCO), Human Resources Operations Policy (HROP), Benefits and Work life Programs Branch (BWPB). This position IS not subject to security ownership restriction reporting requirements Responsibilities As a Human Resources Benefits Specialist, GG-0201-07, you will be responsible for: Assisting with processing benefits request, and forms. Assisting with managing the Benefits Resource Mailbox. Assisting with preparing sensitive correspondence on complex, and/or delicate case matters. Assisting with providing information necessary to help employees obtain maximum gains from available benefits. Assisting with facilitating training to supervisors and employees on benefits programs. Utilizing automated human resources systems to prepare and process basic personnel/benefits actions Assisting with coordinating personnel actions and notifying the Team Leader and/or Senior HR Specialist of discrepancies requiring corrections to personnel actions. Requirements Conditions of Employment U.S. Citizenship Required This is a Drug Testing position. Background investigation leading to a clearance is required for new hires. You must meet the qualifications for this position by no later than 30 calendar days after the closing date of this announcement and before placement in the position. Qualifications In order to qualify for this position, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE is defined as: Experience applying basic knowledge of NRC and Federal human resources regulations, policies, practices, and procedures sufficient to provide basic advice on human resources management/benefits questions; develop reasonable alternatives to day-to-day human resources problems; and to assure effective implementation of appropriate basic policies and procedures. AND/OR Experience utilizing software applications sufficient to operate and maintain automated human resources systems. AND/OR Experience processing personnel actions in a HRIS system. Education There is no education requirement for this position. Additional Information The duty location of this position is Rockville, MD. In general, employees are expected to be in the office at a minimum of 4 days per pay period. Telework schedules, including full-time telework, are approved, on a case-by-case basis. If selected, telework will be determined in accordance with Agency policy and the Collective Bargaining Agreement, if applicable.
