1st Shift Quality Technician

Job Summary We are looking for a Quality Technician to inspect, test, sort, sample, measure, and/or weigh raw materials or processed, machined, fabricated, or assembled parts or products for defects, wear, and deviations from specifications. The Quality Technician will use precision measuring instruments and complex test equipment. Assist the Quality Supervisor in the compilation and reporting of quality data. Communicates and coordinates quality standards and activities with customers and Quality Inspectors. Hours: 7AM-5:30PM; Monday - ThursdayPay: $18 USD/hrResponsibilitiesDiscuss inspection results with those responsible for products and recommend necessary corrective actions.Coordinate First Part Approval (FPA) procedures in conformance with established company or customer requirements.Discard or quarantine for inspection products, materials, and equipment not meeting specifications.Monitor all aspects of product quality and manage the process using the company's Quality Management Software (QMS) program.Ensure that all measuring/testing equipment is properly calibrated.Record and maintain accurate and complete inspection or test data, such as weights, temperatures, grades, or moisture content and quantities inspected orIssue approved QSS (Quality Standard) and work instructions prior to the start of every production run.Perform daily spot check verification of item packaging/labeling configuration to insure conformance to the QSS.Provide leadership to the Quality department personnel, including directing work activities and follow up.Assist in the training of Quality department personnel.Assist Plant Manager and/or Quality Supervisor in applicable employee trainingCompliance with legal environmental and safety requirements of the area.Focus effort to ensure that the administration / quality management system achieves the intended results, in the activities that develops.Promote improvement.Know the environmental aspects of the area and its control.Know the environmental impacts associated with their activities.Identify specific environmental requirements of the customer.Follow all Environmental and Safety policies.Comply with procedures, regulations, and instructions of environmental and safety programs.Assist the Quality Supervisor in the compilation and reporting of quality data. Communicates and coordinates quality standards and activities with customers and Quality Inspectors. Other duties as assigned.QualificationsPosition may require periods of intense physical exertion in conditions of low to high temperatures and humidity.Position requires ability to lift, push, pull, and/or carry up to 50lbs on a frequent basis.Position requires frequent and repeated standing, stooping, bending, and grasping.High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)Minimum of 2 years employment experience in quality inspection/management position (preferably in a manufacturing environment.Relevant supervisory experience may be substituted for the education requirement at the discretion of the hiring manager or Director of QualityPhysical DemandsPosition may require periods of intense physical exertion in conditions of low to high temperatures and humidity.Position requires the ability to stand, bend, and stretch over extended periods of time during a normal work shift.Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
