Living by these virtues, we pride ourselves on exceptional service and the highest quality of care.The Cancer Institute is now hiring for a temporary full-time Phlebotomy Technician/Ambulatory Care Aide for their Nampa outpatient clinic lab at their clinic located on the Nampa Medical Center campus!Position Summary & Highlights:As a Temporary Phlebotomy tech/Ambulatory Care Aide at the Cancer Institute outpatient clinic, you will work for at least 12 weeks, with a possibility of moving into a part or full-time position after this assignment either into the Medical Group float pool or other positions internally.You will work closely with our patients and care team and have the opportunity to use a variety of your patient care skills.The Saint Alphonsus Cancer Institute is proud to be the leading cancer program in Idaho and Eastern Oregon. These help provide seamless care for patients and families.Saint Alphonsus also holds the region's largest clinical trials.What You Will Do:The position will primarily work in the Phlebotomy Tech position, but would be able to help with other duties related to patient care as an Ambulatory Care Aide.The Phlebotomy Tech will collect blood samples, correctly identify patients, transport specimens and perform all related clerical and computer functions. You will work at a tube station located inside the clinic which includes all supplies needed.You will complete specialty labs and genetic testing.On average you will complete 20 - 40 draws per day and higher days you can get assistance from other staff.In the Ambulatory Care Aide role, you will occasionally assist with rooming patients, take basic vitals, place orders and other Care Aide duties.You will work in a very supported environment for this position.Work Schedule:40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 7:30am - 4:30pmLocation:4400 E Flamingo Ave., Ste. 130, Nampa, ID 83687On the Nampa Medical Center CampusLearn more about the Cancer Institute:https://www.saintalphonsus.org/services/cancer-care Minimum Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent required.Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire (for Ambulatory Care Aide role).Phlebotomy certification preferred.Experience in phlebotomy in a hospital setting preferred.Ability to communicate effectively with patients and hospital staff.Good working knowledge of medical terminology and computers.Highlights and Benefits:When Saint Alphonsus takes care of you, you can take better care of our patients.
