ABOUT THE ROLE
Holcim US, a leading supplier of quality, construction building materials in the United States, has immediate openings for a Dump Truck Driver position to support operations at the Clinton Maryland asphalt plant locations. The position is primarily responsible for maintaining the grounds and operating equipment to include sweeping, shoveling, and performing light maintenance such as cleaning and lubricating parts. The position will also perform pre and post-trip inspections on equipment, such as a rubber tire loader, forklift, man lift or bobcat prior to and after operation, and will operate such equipment in support of plant operations. This position hours are typically between 6:00am-5:00pm Hours may vary depending on the needs of the business.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Conducts a pre and post trip inspection of the truck and reports any items in need of evaluation, repair or maintenance.
Identifies safety problems or concerns and reports any unsafe conditions to Supervisor including near misses and areas where safety can be improved.
Communicates with load and unload areas
Hauls materials safely to designated areas and maintains safe speed and observes all haulage.
Maintains an effective system of communications with Supervisors and Customer Service.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
CLASS A CDL (Manual Transmission driving experience)
Required Work Experience: 2(+) years of experience
Excellent oral communication skills with close attention to detail
Required Computer and Software Skills: Basic computer skills
Ability to work in all weather conditions without limitations.
Ability to lift 50lbs
Reliable transportation
Strong safety orientation
Must be able to work second shift hours as directed by supervisor, typical start time between 6:00am- 5:000pm
Ability to work Monday through Friday, and occasional Saturdays
Additional Requirements:
Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Subject to applicable law, employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
