Job Title: College Admissions Clerk
Position Overview:
Join our admissions team as a College Admissions Clerk and play a vital role in guiding students toward achieving their educational dreams. We are looking for a detail-oriented, customer-focused professional to provide administrative support and assist prospective and current students with the admissions process. From managing application materials to fostering a welcoming environment, your organizational skills and commitment will contribute to the success of our students.
Key Responsibilities:
Administrative Support:
Process and maintain records for applications, transcripts, test scores, and other required documents.
Accurately input and update applicant information in admissions databases.
Coordinate and manage correspondence, including acceptance letters, email notifications, and applicant inquiries.
Student Support:
Assist prospective students and families with questions about the admissions process, deadlines, and requirements.
Welcome and guide visitors to the admissions office, ensuring a positive and professional experience.
Provide excellent customer service and maintain a student-first approach.
File and Records Management:
Organize and maintain digital and physical records of admissions documents.
Safeguard applicant records, ensuring compliance with institutional policies and FERPA regulations.
Prepare reports on application trends, statuses, and enrollment data as needed.
Event Coordination:
Support admissions events such as campus tours, open houses, and orientation sessions.
Assist with event logistics, including scheduling, material preparation, and attendee communications.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with admissions counselors and staff to facilitate smooth application processing.
Provide applicants and stakeholders with updates on admissions policies and procedures.
Act as a liaison between applicants and counselors to address complex inquiries.
Qualifications:
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and admissions software (e.g., Slate, Banner).
Professional demeanor and attention to detail.
Preferred:
Some college coursework or an associate degree.
Experience in administrative or customer service roles, ideally in higher education.
Familiarity with the college admissions process.
Bilingual proficiency (Spanish preferred).
Experience with database management and reporting.
