The IT Support Services Branch (ITSS) in the Information Technology Services Division (ITSD) at STScI seeks an IT Technologist, II for the Desktop Services team to provide world class customer service and technical support to STScI staff and partners.

Candidates must reside in or be willing to relocate to our local market. (MD, DE, VA, PA, DC & WV).
U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status is needed to meet ITAR requirements.
This role requires on site presence at our Baltimore location 5 days per week.
Responsibilities include:
Configure and deploy computers using tools such as Jamf Pro and MECM
Provide technical support to STScI staff and partners both in-person, telephone, and through other collaboration tools.
Install, configure, troubleshoot and repair computers, peripherals, printers, VOIP phones, software, and other equipment.
Assist with office moves for new and existing employees.
Perform IT asset management duties including receiving, deploying, auditing and disposal of IT equipment.
Qualifications:
Strong technical skills, including knowledge of hardware, software, and operating systems such as Windows, macOS, and Linux
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in an interrupt driven environment.
Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
3 years’ work experience in a related field.
Ability to lift/move computer equipment up to 40 lbs .
The salary range for this role is $56.5-58k annually.
The posted salary range represents a general guideline; however, STScI considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers, such as internal pay equity, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's experience, education, and skill, and current market conditions.
