The Team
The Genetics Medicines BD team is focused on advancing Alloy’s proprietary, AntiClastic, antisense oligonucleotide platform through partnerships with large pharmaceutical companies, biotech companies and the investment community.
The AntiClastic RNA platform enables the development of more potent and safer RNA medicines.
Alloy’s innovative partnerships enable the advancement of bespoke genetic medicines for diseases of unmet need.
The RNA medicines BD team is focused on executing and managing the valuable strategic partnerships that will play a key role in the growth story of Alloy Therapeutics.
The Role
As the Associate Director/ Director, Alliance Management for Genetic Medicines, reporting to the CBO of Genetic Medicines and Head of Corporate Development, you will oversee and manage multiple Genetic Medicine collaborations with several Pharma partners, working to ensure the success of these key, collaborations.
You are experienced at managing complex relationships and enjoy the challenges of ensuring all stakeholders are aligned and committed to the success of the overall partnership.
The successful candidate for this role must be open-minded, team-oriented, and flexible.
This role provides the opportunity to represent Alloy externally to potential partners, demonstrating a spirit of respect, approachability, and competence. The role is for full-time onsite engagement in our Waltham, Massachusetts headquarters.
How You’ll Drive Impact
Collaboration:
Working with both the scientific team(s) and the CBO of Genetic Medicines, you will work collaboratively to guide all aspects of the Genetic Medicines alliances.
Communication:
Quickly establish productive touchpoints across all partner organizations for the benefit of the alliance(s).
Frequent and productive communication will be key to the health of the genetic medicines alliances.
Deliver:
Work swiftly to deliver on key goals, keeping the different scientific programs on track.
Come with a “solution oriented” approach to tackling any challenges.
Manage :
Effe ctively and seamlessly guide the many different activities towards a successful outcome.
Principal Responsibilities
You will be embedded in the scientific, working teams of both Alloy and Alloy’s Genetic Medicine partners, as the Genetic Medicine Alliance Manager and you will be responsible for developing, nurturing, and managing a close relationship between Alloy and our pharma and biotech partners.
You will be able to quickly learn and understand the culture across different organizations and work to build trust and clear communication channels for all the companies concerned.
You will quickly and easily establish multiple, regular touchpoints across Alloy and partner organization(s).
A key responsibility will be to manage multiple JSC’s and organize and run focused weekly/monthly meetings between Alloy and our partner companies (legal, finance etc..).
In communication with Alloy stakeholders and the partner organization(s), you will develop agendas and organize presenters and scientific content.
Using established alliance management tools, you will ensure all the different scientific programs are on track to deliver key milestones – ensuring the success of the collaboration.
You will be able to review and comment on the legal language in contracts as these relationships are being formed.
As partnerships advance and amendments or updates are required, you will drive the amendment process in collaboration with the alliance management and legal groups of all the partner organizations.
You will be comfortable navigating and resolving any conflicts as they arise.
You will manage and input into the financial management of these collaborations and develop any reporting nece ssary.
As such, you need to be fully informed with respect to the budgeting for all these alliances.
Qualifications
A Master’s or PhD degree(preferred) in a scientific discipline (Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Pharmacology or related), experience in RNA or genetic medicines a must
7+ years in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry
5+ years of alliance management experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry, post deal execution preferred
Solid understanding of the cross functional drug development processes
Knowledge of project management techniques and tools, including project management software, and proficiency with standard desktop computing programs (e-mail, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc..)
Self-motivated, highly organized, detail oriented and able to deliver multiple tasks working under strict timelines
Strong interpersonal s kills.
Capacity to work cross-functionally and to influence people without direct authority.
