Pediatric Radiology Opportunity at the Medical College of Wisconsin and Children's Wisconsin

The Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) and Children's Specialty Group (CSG) are seeking a fellowship trained pediatric radiologist to join our current team of 11 pediatric radiologists and 4 advanced practice providers. Clinical activities will be primarily performed at the Children's Wisconsin and its affiliated local outpatient imaging centers. Children's Wisconsin (CW) is the major pediatric teaching hospital affiliated with the Medical College of Wisconsin with radiology residents, fellows, and instructors rotating on the pediatric radiology service.

The more than 650 CSG pediatric physician specialists and pediatric advanced practice providers are employed by MCW and provide clinical services at Children's (hospitals, clinics and virtual appointments) and conduct scientific research. CSG is the largest medical group in the state of Wisconsin focused on pediatric health.

Candidates with experience, Fellows in training or radiologists early in their careers searching for an established program to support and develop their individual career goals are encouraged to consider this opportunity to clinically practice 100% pediatric radiology. Candidates with further subspecialized training, experience or desires are also encouraged to investigate the opportunities within the pediatric radiology section that is closely integrated with the Department of Radiology Adult practice at MCW. Children's Wisconsin:

Nationally ranked in 6 specialties by US News & World Report for 2021-2022, Children's Wisconsin is a 306-bed freestanding children's hospital on the campus of the Milwaukee Regional Medical Center and is the pediatric teaching affiliate hospital for the Medical College of Wisconsin. It is one of the busiest pediatric hospitals in the country and includes a Level I trauma center, a 72-bed pediatric intensive care unit, 69 bed neonatal intensive care unit, and a Level IV Epilepsy Center. More than 23,000 patients are admitted annually, 305,000 ambulatory and urgent care visits and 21,000 surgical procedures.

Section of Pediatric Radiology : The section performs more than 120,000 diagnostic and interventional radiology exams annually in all modalities at the Children's Wisconsin and its affiliated outpatient imaging centers. The section fully supports care closer to home in which children and families can receive imaging services in their local communities regardless of geographic location and have available the expertise of a pediatric radiologist interpreting the study. With an emphasis on patient and family experience, we directly provide professional interpretive services at 5 dedicated pediatric outpatient multi-modality imaging centers associated with the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. The section provides pediatric radiology interpretations for all patients under the age of 18 years at an additional 17 community hospitals and imaging centers in partnership with the expanding MCW Department of Radiology imaging practice throughout the region.

Position Requirements:Fellowship trained in pediatric radiology with CAQ (or eligible). Additional training, interests or sub-specialization interests are deemed desirable (pediatric neuro-imaging, nuclear-medicine, musculoskeletal, interventional, fetal, and cardiac). Academic appointment and rank is commensurate with experience and qualifications. This position requires excellence in patient care, teaching and appreciation for the team concept. The Section of Pediatric Radiology supports medical students, radiology residents, radiology fellows, pediatric residents and subspecialty fellows. A research infrastructure and opportunities are also available for those interested.
