$43.00/hr to 48.00/hr Working Hours: Work is typically scheduled from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with four days remote and one day (Thursday) onsite. However, there may be occasions when employees need to work after hours or on weekends to support specific tasks. While the schedule may need to be flexible, it will not exceed 40 hours per week or 1500 hours total.
Summary: The Texas Health and Human Services Commission is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Database Administrator II to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in database management, data warehousing, and data modeling. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Mandatory Qualifications
7 years of extensive experience in using database access tools for application delivery, such as Informatica or Oracle OCI. 5 years of strong knowledge of database management systems, data warehouse management, and decision support tools. 5 years of experience in the development, implementation, and maintenance of data warehouses and data marts. 5 years of experience in business objects and building the data dictionary. 5 years of strong familiarity with analysis, planning, and management reporting functions. 5 years of well-developed oral and written communication skills. 5 years of strong teamwork and interpersonal skills. 5 years of extremely high analytical ability for solving unusual and difficult problems. 5 years of understanding benchmarking processes and techniques. 5 years of very high interpersonal skills to work effectively with others, motivate employees, and elicit work output. 5 years of experience with data warehousing data population and data modeling techniques for target structures such as Star Schemas, Snowflake Schemas, and highly normalized data models. 5 years of experience with GUI-based ETL tools such as Informatica, IBM WebSphere DataStage, or similar tools. 5 years of implementation experience with enterprise-class databases such as Teradata, Oracle, SQL Server, or similar technologies. 5 years of implementation experience with analytical and reporting tools such as Business Objects, Cognos, Hyperion, MicroStrategy, or similar tools. 5 years of experience with the data warehouse implementation process, from business requirements through logical modeling, physical database design, data sourcing, data transformation, data loading, and SQL performance tuning. 5 years of excellent analytical, problem-solving, team-playing, and oral and written communication skills. 5 years of proven ability to work successfully with technical and non-technical groups and manage multiple responsibilities. Highly Desired Qualifications :
7 years of experience with Informatica database tools. 5 years of Oracle Database experience. 5 years of experience with SSRS report creation. Duties/Responsibilities:
Utilize database access tools such as Informatica or Oracle OCI for application delivery. Manage and maintain database management systems and data warehouses. Develop, implement, and maintain data warehouses and data marts. Build and manage data dictionaries and business objects. Perform analysis, planning, and management reporting functions. Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to ensure effective data management and reporting. Apply benchmarking processes and techniques to improve database performance. Utilize data warehousing data population and data modeling techniques, including Star Schemas, Snowflake Schemas, and highly normalized data models. Implement and manage GUI-based ETL tools such as Informatica and IBM WebSphere DataStage. Work with enterprise-class databases such as Teradata, Oracle, and SQL Server. Implement analytical and reporting tools such as Business Objects, Cognos, Hyperion, and MicroStrategy.
