Overview
The Associate Director plays a crucial role in supporting the Site Director in the overall administration and organization of Wooddale Academy. This individual will oversee staffing, departmental planning, and enhancing productivity to ensure a positive experience for employees and families. The ideal candidate will be passionate about early childhood education, dedicated to the success of our next generation, thrive in team collaboration, possess a commitment to excellence and a fun work environment, and be equipped with leadership and critical thinking skills to proactively address challenges and promote Wooddale Academy within the community.
ResponsibilitiesAssist in the development and implementation of the curriculum which reflects Wooddale Academy and Wooddale Church's values.Assist the Director with the necessary management responsibilities to ensure maximum enrollment and effective cost control.Assist the Director in managing school staff by planning work schedules and assisting with the implementation of Company-provided curriculum, which includes coaching, communicating, and interpreting standards with teachers.Provide premier customer service experience to all external and internal customers.Assumes responsibility for managing site operations in the Director's absence.Ensure the school operates following program and state licensing standards while promoting a positive partnership within the surrounding community.Assist in the implementation of and Attend all staff meetings, retreats, and planning days to foster team building and promote the exchange of ideas among staff.Spark imagination, build self-esteem, plant seeds of faith, and help children discover new things each day in an educational, caring, and safe environment.Ability to perform all of the essential functions for each position within Wooddale Academy, including, but not limited to, other leadership positions and teaching positions.Other duties as assigned.Qualifications
Baccalaureate Degree in Early Childhood or related field preferred.Previous experience in supervision of staff in an Early Childhood educational program preferred.At least two years of teaching experience in Early Childhood or elementary education setting.Knowledge of the social, emotional and creative needs of young children.Have a clear understanding of MN State Licensing, NAEYC and Parent Aware guidelines.Support and affirm the Statement of Faith, Covenant, Mission, and Vision of WooddaleRelationships
Reports directly to the Wooddale Academy Site DirectorCollaborates with Wooddale Academy Leadership TeamSupports teaching staff
Expected Hours of Work & Travel
This position requires the ability to work during our normal business hours, Monday through Friday and potentially some evenings for events. The ability to travel to all campus locations and off-site meetings is also required, on an as needed basis.
Physical Demands
The ability to lift up to 40 pounds, repetitive bending, stretching and stooping, climbing up and down stairs, and having mobility are required to ensure the safety of children, work with children on the floor, work outdoors, and to perform light cleaning.
