Job Summary
This position is responsible for operating a Commercial Semi-truck (Water Tanker) in the maintenance of the water and wastewater systems.Major Duties
Performs daily check of tires and fluid levels on vehicle and equipment; performs minor repairs and maintenance as needed.Operates a commercial water tank truck to transport water to water tanks and/or other facilities as needed.Inspects water tanks; connects water hoses and unloads water.Maintains required logs.Maintain levels in storage tanks based on water demand.Responds to after-hours emergencies.Perform any other duties as assigned within the department's need.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of county and department policies and procedures.Knowledge of departmental safety rules and regulations.Knowledge of water tank truck operations.Skill in operating assigned trucks and equipment.Skill in establishing safe work zones.Skill in the maintenance and repair of a variety of tools and equipment.Ability to communicate orally and in writing in the English language and orally in the Spanish language.Minimum Qualifications
Must have a High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.Must have at least one ( 1 ) year of driving experience.Must possess a valid and current Commercial Class A driver's license with a Tank Vehicle as Endorsement for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.

Complexity/Scope of Work
The work consists of related truck driving duties. Inclement weather and heavy traffic contribute to the complexity of the work.The purpose of this position is to operate trucks in support of department operations. Successful performance contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of department operations.Physical Demands/Work Environment Occasionally
Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like.Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.Moving to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.Adjusting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions.Communicating with others to exchange information.Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.Operating machinery and/or power tools.Operating motor vehicles or heavy equipment.Assessing the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.Working in low temperatures.Working in high temperatures.Outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind.Working in noisy environments.Working in hazardous conditions.Working small and/or enclosed spaces.Working in adverse environmental conditions is expected.Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.Light work that includes carrying objects up to 20 pounds.Medium work that includes carrying objects up to 50 pounds.Constantly
