Summary:
The client has an opportunity for an analyst within their Payroll/Cross-Border Tax team.
Responsibilities/ Basic Functions:
This position requires a strong understanding of payroll processing including federal and state regulations.Researches and interprets factual information. Identifies inconsistencies in data or results, defines business issues and formulates recommendations on policies, procedures, or practicesRespond to CBET requests that are submitted through the Service Now ticketing system. This includes ongoing monitoring from case creation to case closure and ensuring the information in the case is complete and the appropriate documentation has been providedAnswer CBET inquiries via a shared mailboxProvide verbal and written feedback to questions from vendors, employees, and global partnersPerform validation checks on employee data and update as necessaryAnalyze data and metrics in Excel using pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and other advanced featuresManage critical and time-sensitive issues to ensure program compliancePerforms more complex tasks in support of the team manager and area projects as assignedParticipate in project work as needed including NYS trailing liabilities related to supplemental compensation project for YE 2024/Year Start 2025 to include:Population review/identificationCoordination, review, and WD records update for split tax allocations related to NYS travelersInterpret, analyze, and apply statutory rules, compliance regulations, and corporate policy to ensure pay is accurate.Understand and analyze complex payroll calculations and execute solutions that meet statutory regulations.Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding the company, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.Requirements:
The candidate must have strong organization skills and an excellent team mentality.The ideal candidate should have experience with one or all of the following: global cross-border administration and/or taxation issues, Service Now, and advanced spreadsheet application knowledge.The ideal candidate will apply specialty area knowledge in monitoring, assessing, analyzing and/or evaluating processes and data.Candidates must be highly analytical with demonstrated experience in critical thinking, problem solving and evaluating business processes and data.Qualifications/Skills:
4 Year college degree2-3+ years relevant experienceExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExperience with Service Now functionality preferredPrioritizes work in alignment with organizational and departmental goals. Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervisionAbility to operate in a team environment, working efficiently in a multi office/time zone/cross-cultural environment Proficient user of MS Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) required
