Job Summary:
Under the general supervision of the Logistics Manager, the Terminal Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the terminal, ensuring efficient and safe handling, storage, and distribution of products. This role involves managing staff, maintaining equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Oversee operations where product is loaded to and unloaded from trucks, railcars, or other methods of transportation.Manages schedules of multiple inbound and outbound shipments and coordinates the work of terminal staff to ensure that loading and unloading activities meet time constraints.Ensures terminal operates within productivity and performance standards established by the organization.Inspect equipment and monitors operations in compliance with federal, state, local, or organizational safety standards.Arranges for equipment repair or preventative maintenance as needed.Prepare and submit regular reports on terminal operations, including inventory levels, safety incidents, and performance metrics.Promote safe practices, enforcing safety and security standards, and conducting risk assessments.Performs other related duties as assigned.Required Skills/Abilities:
Effective leadership, delegation, and people skills.Strong communication skills both written and verbal.Ability to plan and prioritize daily duties to meet customer needs.Flexibility and ability to adjust to changing priorities.Intermediate proficiency with MS Office Suite, PDF, database systems, and other related software.Knowledge of mechanical maintenance.Ability to build effective teams including coaching skills, gain commitment and delegate responsibilities accordingly.Education/Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration or related field preferred.Minimum of 5 years of experience in terminal operations or similar role, preferably in the cement or construction materials industry.Strong on the job, industry experience in a related position, will be considered in lieu of a degree.Benefits:
