Salary Range:

$52.6100 - $80.8600 /hour. Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, skill level, and education.

The Radiation Therapist performs localization of tumors under the direction of the physician, participates in treatment planning and delivers high doses of ionizing radiation treatment to patients in accordance with prescription and instructions from Radiation Oncologists.This role ensures all protocols and best practices are followed prior and during the delivery of treatment and evaluates the patient daily for any untoward effects, reaction and therapeutic responses.Independently operates Agility, VersaHD, or TomoHD (to include warm up, shut down and machine operations).Participates in decisions about appropriate simulation technique and treatment positions.Verifies treatment plan and the mathematical accuracy of the prescription and daily treatment summary.Produces quality imaging for optimal viewing results.Adheres to all radiation safety rules and minimizes patient exposure during CT imaging procedures.Ensures quality of block fabrication.Determines when to withhold treatment until a physician is contacted as well as the course of action in emergency or problem situation.Provides information to patient and patient's family about radiation therapy procedures as well as proper skin care, diet and self-care procedures as needed.Maintains electronic documentation of quality assurance activities (chart rounds), procedures and results in accordance to guidelines.Participate in the continuous quality improvement process.On call coverage as assigned.Performs other duties as assigned.Education and Experience

Required

Associate's Degree,Preferred Bachelor's DegreeLicense Required

Licensed by the California Department of Health Services as a Radiologic Technologist (Therapeutic)Licensed by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiation Therapy or equivalent as recognized by the ARRTCertifications Required

Current Basic Life Support (BLS), approved by the American Heart Association
