SUMMARY
The Driver position at Contra Costa Electric, Inc., reports directly to the Warehouse Manager located in Fresno, CA. Responsibilities include receiving and staging materials and tools, delivering material and tools to job sites, general maintenance and cleaning duties within the facility, and related activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Follow the direction of the warehouse manager to deliver tools and materials along established routes for various job sites throughout the Bay Area. Safely operate the following equipment after training has been provided, including but not limited to a 14’ stake bed truck, 22’ stake bed truck, tow trailer, and forklift. Travel to various vendor warehouses throughout the Bay Area to will-call material and deliver as needed to job sites or main office. Coordinate with site personnel to pick up material or tools and associated paperwork from the job sites and return to main office. Deliver mail to the local post office as needed. Process packing slips and material/tool transfers accordingly for all deliveries. Receive and stage materials from various vendors and shipping companies delivering directly to the main office. Maintain direct communication with the Warehouse Manager throughout the day to update progress of route as required. Contribute to a neat and tidy work area within the warehouse, yard and various sheds and conex boxes used for storage of materials and tools. Ensure vehicle is kept clean and well fueled, according to maintenance checklist. Maintain communication with the Fleet Manager to ensure proper maintenance and operation of assigned vehicles. Ensure safe operation of all equipment including fork-lift through proper training and daily inspection. Assist in keeping the facility secure by routinely walking the perimeter of the facility and reporting or assisting in repair of any deficiencies. Miscellaneous housekeeping duties throughout the main office, including moving furniture, emptying garbage and recycling, and various small maintenance functions as required. Assist office staff in archiving document boxes for storage. Maintain record of archive box locations and retrieve or store as required. Maintain stock of consumable materials for office locations including bottled water, paper, cutlery, coffee etc. Regularly inspect office safety materials such as first aid kits and fire extinguishers. General:
Quickly learn and apply Warehouse practices and technical skills. Work independently with little or no supervision after having been shown how to accomplish assignments. Able to work 40 hours per week in Martinez, CA with daily travel to job sites and local warehouses as needed. Must maintain excellent attendance for warehouse working hours of 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM Monday – Friday. Overtime possible depending on traffic and workload. Ask appropriate questions related to assignments and recommend improvements. Practice excellent organization and remain upbeat and pleasant even when facing the pressure of pending or multiple deadlines. PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
2 years’ experience as a driver preferred. High school diploma or GED required. Valid driver’s license and a clean Motor Vehicle Record is required. Class B license is preferred. REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to travel by car to various job sites and must have the ability to navigate around job sites safely.
