Reporting to the

Engineering Services Manager,

the

Process Engineering Manager

is responsible for managing a team of process engineers working on improving process engineering capabilities to support automated manufacturing systems in a medical manufacturing facility.

What a typical day looks like:Lead a factory process engineering team including engineers and technicians for the Flex Buffalo Grove Facility.Take leadership during the entire life cycle of projects and process improvements, from concept to feasibility and design to production release.Manage and deploy engineering and technician resources to support a highly automated 24/7 production operation.Define, develop and deploy processes and improvements as required.Develop process requirements and specifications.Develop budgets, resource plans and schedules for projects.Conduct equipment design reviews and provide design guidance to suppliers.Manage automation suppliers through all phases of projects.Manage equipment changes and upgrades.Provide on-site support during machine build, debugging and testing/qualification.Supervise installation and testing to verify requirements and specifications are met.Assist validation team with qualification protocols and support equipment qualification activities.Attend customer meetings at all levels of discussions, getting customer inputs and presenting Flex manufacturing solutions, etc.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Support pFMEA review and analysis and provide detailed recommendations.Interface with customer technical and executive leadership as needed.Report line performance and project status to Flex site as well as executive management.Drive standards, best practices and SOPs for the engineering group.Drive team to meet manufacturing KPIs such as OEE, Yield, Scrap and Downtime.The experience we're looking to add to our team:

BS or MS Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent experienceExperience with implementation and support of high-speed assembly systems (>20ppm)Minimum 7 years related experience in a technology-based industry, where a mix of automated and manual assembly techniques is utilized.Minimum 2 years' experience working with manufacturing of medical devices or other highly regulated products.Minimum 2 years of experience leading a technical team.Industrial Engineering experience working in both High Mix Low Volume (HMLV) and Low Mix High Volume (LMHV) assembly processes.Knowledge of automation systems and tools - robotic, vision, material handling, ASRS, Conveyors, PLC, HMI, Pick-Place-Pack, Inspection/Test methods.Knowledge of Layout, Tooling/Fixturing, Demand Flow, Cell Concept and Lean Manufacturing and Simulation tools.Knowledgeable in medical or equivalent validation activities: FAT, SAT, IQ, OQ, PQ, Test Scripts, MSA, Process Development.What you'll receive for the great work you provide:
